Childbirth. How to look gorgeous on his first day of life.

Childbirth. How to look gorgeous on his first day of life.

Welcome to the ”Let the Expert Talk” Series.

As it is tradition now Thursday is a day for generosity and sharing. Experts from many different paths of life and experience come together and provide us with wonderful information about what they do so we can learn from them and apply their expertise in our lives.

Today we have a guest of honor, and I believe it is an honor because I had the pleasure to meet Ashley personally few months ago. Ashley Stabile is the Founder of Laborlooks. They provide Expecting Moms with Maternity Hospital Gowns for them to Wear in Labor & Delivery, what a treat!

1. Ashley, could you tell us about yourself and what you do?

My name is Ashley Stabile and I am the founder of LaborLooks. I am also a wife, mother and labor & delivery nurse. Spending the past 4+ years as a labor & delivery nurse, I believe more and more every day that moms deserve to look good and feel comfortable (and at least have their backside covered) in labor & delivery. So many women come in wanting to wear their own clothes in labor (comfort, photos, etc) and yet in almost every case it is just not practical. I work at a very family friendly hospital with great nurses and providers. We always attempt to honor moms requests to wear their own clothes and before long they usually want to change into something that works better (for exams, fetal monitoring, IV access). I always feel bad as I hand them over a huge, starchy feeling hospital gown to wear. That is why I love the product we offer… comfortable and stylish for moms, as well as hospital approved and practical for the hospital environment and breastfeeding.

2. Why did you choose to work with/for this group of women?

Easy, I LOVE my job as a labor and delivery nurse. I love receiving thank you notes and photos from new moms every day that tell me they loved wearing their labor & delivery gown. I also love the way our facebook page has progressed to be a forum and place for people to ask their questions related to pregnancy, labor and delivery, postpartum and breastfeeding. Typically several women that follow our page will provide feedback and support, as well as a CNM and RN perspective.

3. How does your service improve the lives of my readership?

LaborLooks gowns help moms feel and look good in labor and delivery! Our facebook pages offers women a forum and place to go to ask all things pregnancy, birth, postpartum related… if we don’t have an answer, we will find someone that does.

4. Any piece of advice for these wonderful women?

Yes, take ownership of your labor and delivery experience. I recently wrote a blog post that would be good for any expecting mom to read… Top 10 Things You Should Consider Before Heading to the Hospital.

5. Is there anything else that you’d like to share with us?

LaborLooks is offering a LaborLooks Maternity Hospital Gown to one lucky reader. Here are the rules to ente: “like” LaborLooks on facebook, “like” Coach for Mamas on facebook and then leave a comment on the blog post letting us know why you want to win a LaborLooks gown. The lucky winner will be randomly selected and announced on Wednesday, April 25th.

If you would like to find out more about Laborlooks or Ashley Stabile please follow them through facebook, twitter or their website.

Thank you so much Ashley for being here today and offering such a wonderful giveaway. I appreciate the time you have given us considering you pretty hectic schedule. And thank you my dear reader. I hope that you have enjoyed today’s interview. Don’t forget to come back next week for more.

Always happy to help, the @coachformamas.
